Rewards terms

Last updated 24 October 2026.

These terms cover the ernd rewards program, run by Provenance Research Inc. (“ernd”). They apply to every company that joins and to each person who uses ernd for that company. By joining, a company agrees to them.

1. Who can join

  • The program is for companies, not individuals. For now it is open to companies based in the United States, and only spend billed in US dollars earns points.
  • The person who sets up the company signs in with a work email or a Google work account and becomes its first admin. Admins can invite other admins and members.
  • Each person who joins must be allowed to act for the company on things like billing and vendor accounts.
  • Points belong to the company, not to the person who earned or redeemed them.

2. Earning points

Points are earned on what the company pays the providers listed below, at the rate shown for each. Rates apply to the amount paid after discounts and before tax, less any refunds or lost disputes.

OpenAI and Anthropic: 4 points per $1

ernd funds these points as a promotion. OpenAI and Anthropic do not run, sponsor or endorse the program. Spend is counted from paid receipts:

  • Receipts. A member uploads paid receipts or invoices (PDF, PNG or JPEG, up to 10 MB), or connects the Gmail or Outlook inbox they arrive in. ernd checks a connected inbox once a day for new receipt PDFs from OpenAI and Anthropic.

A receipt counts when it is from that provider, marked paid, in US dollars, dated on or after the day the company joined, and carries an invoice number no one has sent before. The same spend never earns twice. Usage paid with credits ernd cannot see on a paid receipt does not earn.

Firecrawl: 10 points per $1

Only on a new Firecrawl account opened through ernd’s referral link. Accounts opened before, or opened another way, do not earn. Points start once Firecrawl confirms the account belongs to the company.

Superserve: 5 points per $1

The company gives ernd the email on its Superserve account. Points start once Superserve confirms the company is its customer.

Spend that counts

  • Only spend from the day the company joins ernd counts, using the UTC date. Earlier spend never earns, even if its receipt arrives later. Late receipts for spend after that day still count.
  • Other partners may join with their own rates. The rate shown in the app for a partner is the rate that applies to it.

3. When points can be spent

  • OpenAI and Anthropic points can be spent once the receipt passes its checks or a review.
  • Firecrawl and Superserve points show as pending until that partner pays ernd for them. Partners are billed monthly, after the month the spend falls in.
  • If the company’s balance is below zero, new points pay that down before any can be spent.
  • Points do not expire while the company’s account is open and the program is running.

4. Spending points

Points can be spent in two ways: cash back against a charge paid to an ernd partner (4.1), or business travel booked by ernd (4.2).

4.1 Cash back at ernd partners

  • 100 points are worth $1: $1 of credit with a partner, or $1 of cash rebate where one is offered.
  • Only company admins can redeem. Members can see the balance.
  • Points are redeemed in the app as cash back against a charge the company paid an ernd partner, such as Firecrawl or Superserve. Points from any source, including OpenAI and Anthropic spend, can be used this way.
  • Charges paid to OpenAI or Anthropic cannot be paid back with points.
  • A cash rebate at a partner is paid against spend that partner has already reported for the company, up to that amount. It is paid to the company’s bank account and does not lower the company’s bill with the partner.
  • The smallest redemption is $25 (2,500 points), in whole points.
  • ernd staff check every payout before it is sent. Until a payout is approved, an admin can cancel it and the points return.
  • A cash rebate needs a bank account, which an admin adds through ernd’s payment processor. If the bank details change after a payout is approved, the payout is held until staff check it.
  • If a payout fails or is returned, its points go back to the balance.
  • Redemptions at a partner wait while the company’s link to that partner is under review.

4.2 Travel booked by ernd

How it works. Any member of a company can ask ernd to book flights, hotels or both for the company’s business. ernd staff find the trip and send a quote. The quote lists the itinerary, the travelers, the total cost in dollars, the points it will take, the supplier’s main change and cancellation rules, and when the quote expires. A quote is good for 48 hours. After that, ernd sends a new one on request.

Price. Travel costs 100 points for each $1 that ernd pays the airline, hotel or other supplier, including taxes and fees. ernd adds no fee or mark-up.

An admin’s OK comes first. ernd takes no points until a company admin accepts the quote in the app. When the quote is accepted, ernd holds its points. If the final cost is lower than the quote, the difference comes back as points. If the price rises before ernd books, ernd pays a rise of up to 5% of the quote itself. A larger rise means a new quote, the held points come back, and ernd books only after an admin accepts the new quote. A booking never takes more points than the accepted quote.

Which points. Any ready points can pay for travel, whichever partner they were earned at. Pending points can’t.

Prices and availability. Airlines, hotels and other suppliers set prices and availability, and these can change until the booking is made. ernd does not promise the lowest price, or that a trip will still be available when the quote is accepted.

ernd can decline. ernd can decline a request, or cancel an accepted one, at any time before it is booked. If points were held for it, all of them come back.

The supplier’s rules apply. Each booking is made with the supplier on its own terms, including its rules on changes, cancellations, refunds, baggage, check-in and no-shows. A change after booking needs a new quote, and any extra cost, including change fees, is paid in points at the same rate.

When points come back after booking.

  • A supplier refunds money to ernd. Points come back in proportion to the refund: a $200 refund on a $500 booking returns 20,000 points. This applies to each refund, up to the whole cost of the booking. This is also how a cancellation or change by the traveler is handled: points come back only for money the supplier refunds. A non-refundable fare or rate returns nothing.
  • The supplier gives a credit, not money. No points come back. ernd holds the credit and uses it toward the company’s next trip where the supplier allows it.
  • The trip is not provided and the traveler is not at fault (for example the airline cancels the flight, the hotel cannot honor the booking, or ernd cannot complete it). ernd returns the points for the parts not provided within 30 days, whether or not the supplier has refunded ernd.
  • Points that come back can be spent again under these terms.

Booking mistakes. If ernd books something different from the accepted quote, ernd fixes it at its own cost, or returns the points for that part. This does not cover details the company gave wrongly, such as a misspelled name.

ernd is not the airline or hotel. ernd arranges bookings for the company. The airline, hotel or other supplier provides the travel and is responsible for it. ernd is not responsible for a supplier’s acts or failures, such as delays, cancellations, overbooking, lost bags, injuries or the condition of a hotel, or for events outside ernd’s control. Any claim about these goes to the supplier, and ernd will pass on the booking records needed for it.

Business travel, travelers and documents. Travel with points is for the company’s business. Each traveler must be an employee, contractor or guest travelling for the company’s business. The company must give each traveler’s name exactly as it appears on their ID, and must have the traveler’s permission to share their details with ernd. Each traveler is responsible for a valid passport, visas, health documents and anything else needed to board and to enter each country, and for arriving on time. ernd is not responsible if a traveler is refused boarding or entry. In that case points come back only as the supplier’s rules allow.

Personal trips and tax. The company is responsible for any tax on travel paid with points, including when an employee uses the trip personally.

If a member leaves or the account closes. If the member who asked for a trip leaves the company, ernd tells the company’s admins and the trip goes ahead unless an admin cancels it. When the company’s account closes:

  • a trip already booked goes ahead;
  • an accepted trip not yet booked is cancelled, and its points return to the balance before the account closes;
  • after the account closes, money a supplier refunds stays with ernd, like other unspent points (section 9).

Liability. The limits in section 11 apply to travel, except ernd’s duty to return points as this section says and to fix its own booking mistakes. Those are outside the $100 limit.

5. Reviews

ernd staff can review a receipt before it counts when it looks edited, is over $50,000, is billed to a name or email that does not match the company, or cannot be read automatically. Staff approve it, correct the details, or reject it. A rejected receipt earns nothing.

Staff can also hold or reject a redemption, for example when the spend cannot be verified, fraud is suspected, the bank details have a problem, or the request duplicates another one.

6. Adjustments and reversals

  • When spend that earned points is refunded, credited back, or lost in a chargeback or dispute, the points it earned are removed.
  • If those points were already spent, the company’s balance goes below zero, and later points pay it down first.
  • Points earned through fraud, misuse or a breach of these terms can be removed, and redemptions can be held or cancelled while staff look into it. Where a rebate was paid on points obtained by fraud, ernd may ask for it back.
  • ernd corrects mistakes in a balance, in either direction, and records each correction.

7. The promotion can change or end

  • The OpenAI and Anthropic promotion is funded by ernd from a set budget and can change or end. Partner rates can change too.
  • If the promotion budget runs out, new OpenAI and Anthropic points stay pending until ernd adds to the budget or ends the promotion.
  • A new rate starts on the first day of a calendar month, next month at the earliest, and never applies to past months. Companies linked to that provider or partner get an email before it starts.
  • Points already earned stay on the balance when a rate changes or the promotion ends, and can still be redeemed under section 4.

8. Coding agents

  • A member can connect a coding agent with a device sign-in, approved in the browser. The agent acts for that member, with the role the member holds at the time, and its actions are logged as the agent’s.
  • An agent cannot redeem points, change bank details, remove people, change roles, connect or remove inboxes, or create or approve other agent sign-ins. A person does these in the app.
  • The member is responsible for what their agent does. A member can revoke an agent at any time, and an agent’s access ends after 90 days without use.

9. Accounts and termination

  • Keep sign-in details to the company’s own people. Write to hello@ernd.io if someone may have access who should not.
  • When a person leaves the company on ernd, their access ends, and any inbox they connected stops being read and ernd’s access to it is deleted.
  • A company can close its account by writing to hello@ernd.io.
  • ernd can suspend or close an account for a breach of these terms, fraud or misuse, with notice by email unless the law or a fraud investigation prevents it.
  • When an account closes, payouts already approved are completed and trips already booked go ahead. Any other unspent points are lost.

10. No cash value

Points are not money, a deposit or property. They cannot be sold, transferred to another company, or exchanged for cash, except as a cash rebate where the app offers one under section 4.

Rewards may have tax consequences for the company. The company is responsible for its own tax treatment of them.

11. Liability

  • The program is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, ernd makes no promises about it beyond those in these terms.
  • Credit, seats and plans at a partner are governed by that partner’s own terms. ernd is not responsible for a partner’s products or service or a travel supplier’s.
  • To the extent the law allows, ernd is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and its total liability for claims about the program is limited to the greater of $100 or the fees the company paid ernd in the 12 months before the claim.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, and disputes are heard in the state or federal courts in Delaware.

12. Changes to these terms

ernd may update these terms. For a material change, company admins get an email before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page changes. Using the program after that date means accepting the new terms.
